I'll never sell my car as long as I can keep it going.
I put a good bit of cash into it to get it the way it is, but that't not the reason I woun't get rid of it. I keep it because I love it. The way it looks, the way it drives, the mechanical access and serviceability of them.
It is more reliable than other cars I have had. It is easy to park, has great visibility, good turning radius, relatively economic, reasonably comfortable, great on highway drives and short distance trips, comes with a tool kit so you can manage if you need to, has 14" wheels so tires are cheap and a full size spare, killer heat in the winter, OK AC in the summer...I'm going to stop here.
I love my stock E30. :)
I will hold on to it as long as realistically possible, and maybe a little longer if I can.

-stands the test of time
-luxury, sporty, respected but not douche status
-cheap/easy to maintain, keep
-visually appealing as it gets older
-just the right amount of gadgetry, refinement, and feel
-no car payment
the list goes on and on. my only concern is the day when some idiot trashes my car and it'll be more expensive to fix

Price check on Vagiclean, aisle five. I repeat: price check on Vagiclean, aisle five. That's Vagiclean. We've got a customer down here with a full-on fallopian fungus. I'm baking a loaf of bread and I think it's sourdough.

I got a fortune cookie that said "because they have no one else"
True story.
