I've been downloading top gear episodes the past few days out of boredom, and noticed they often use mph rather than kph. I thought that in the US we were the only people stupid enough to use our system of measurement over the metric system?

I'm pretty sure that the UK is also stuck with mph. Go figure.... metric system owns.Erick Mahle | FullOpp Drift | YouTube

We use a half-ass version of the imperial system; the US customary units, or standard units. We don't really flow with the rest of the world, but thats fine. At least you land-lubbers don't have to use differing miles, fathoms, and other shit.

Most things in England are metric except for speed. We use metres and and all that shiznit.
KPH is a cooler way of measuring speed I think, because the big numbers always fool you into thinking you are going faster, last week 210km/h in Germany was very fun. :DMoving sale: Everything Must Go!

Read the book "Measuring America" it tells you how and why we are on the system we are on, and how close we were to joining France in the new metric movement, really close, could tell here but I would need to type like 3 pgs of info and background check out the book it is really good.
you can find it on Amazon.com for like $1.70 plus shipping.E30 325ix 62k
