How Long does your comp stay up for?

mine goes off every nite....its too freakin loud with all the fans on my case, plus with my harware set up, it runs at about 115deg... it literally will raise the temp in my room 5-10deg. waking up sweating in the middle of the nite hungover b.c i forgot to turn off comp is no fun... :roll:

golde30, does your CPU run at 115 or the case? My CPU runs about 95-100 at normal use, and up to 105 under heavy use. I shut the fans off at night and its always at 107 in the morning. The case stays in the 81-83 range.

cpu runs at 120 under heavy use ie, CS:S....but idle temp is like 105-110...case temp is more like 90-95...im running an amd 64 btw...im also running oem cooling apparatus on the cpu though....hehe...

maybe my case sucks? i got a raidmax all aluminum case...i think it deflects heat back into the case, instead of radiating it out like a normal case....

I dunno. Most of the time I am not using my computer intensly so that could be the difference right there. I have 3 fans on the case plus the on-board CPU fan.

I rarely ever turn my computer off. At college, it was only off once throughout the entire year when we had a power outage.

I use Photoshop all the time and play game occasionally.

I have never pushed any sort of power button or shutdown button to turn off the computer.

The only reason my computer turns off is because of those damn power shortages.

I have no reason to turn it off beside to conserve electricity, but my computer is shared enough that it doesn't matter.

I've designed the computer to maintain 95 degrees at idle, 100 at load. It uses two quiet 120mm fans and I don't even notice that it is on when I enter the room.

I'm also a heavy sleeper. ;)

I dont leave mine on too long, my room gets really hot in the summer being above the garage and the tv/computer.

My fans are also pretty friggen loud. Longest about 3 days or so.

I was told once that it uses less power staying on than turning it on and off every day. Is that BS?

mine gets turned off every night unless im downloading or something like that. when i used to play diablo 2 and bot all the time it would stay on for like 3 days and i would notice it start to get slightly sluggish so i would give it a break.
