    I have a Thunderbolt, and it's got issues I don't like. But, I can deal with them if it's the difference between having a warranty or not.
    It voids your warranty, but it's a matter of doing a simple backup and restore to get back to where you were before you rooted.

      ^What if it's locked out, or water damaged? So if you root, the only way to claim warranty is via "stolen/lost" phone replacement via police report method?

        Rooting or jailbreaking your phone has been deemed legal by the FCC. So there shouldn't be a warranty void for doing it.

            If it's water damaged, they aren't going to be able to turn it on to see that you rooted anyway.

              I pre-ordered my G2 back in October and have been loving the shit out of it since.

              I'm running a modded cyanogen mod thats basically 2.3.4 minus all of the bloatware. I usually start getting frustrated with a phone 6 months in because it starts to get slow and glitchy etc. Not the case with this...sure its had its random restarts here and there but not like my god damn bb.

                cyanogen mod is the way to go... i have it running on my incredible. vegans not bad either... i just installed that on a gtab at work and it runs great.
