I've been riding for 13 years now. My first board was a Kemper Phantom Asymetrical 152..... yes, asymetrical. Scary huh?! Other than that I've always ridden Ride snowboards. Usually the Timeless series in a 152. I also have a Ride Control 159 for powder days. Currently rockin' the Drake F70's with Vans High Standards boots (definately need to upgrade the boots).

I spent a season as a ski/ snowboard tech in Keystone, CO in 1997-98. Best year (and job) of my life. Free season pass to Breckenridge, Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone and $10 for a season pass to Arapahoe Basin! But my heart is in the backcountry. Away from the neon suits, and endless lift lines.

97-98 eh? I was in the county that year too. I worked at Gart's on rt 6 in Dillon. I had a pass to them all too, plus Copper. Remember they had the buddy deal going on then?

UNH - Waterville isnt to bad, True Grit nice and steep and reminded me of Whiteface. Ive heard Loon is becoming pretty snowboard friendly, but Ive never been there as Im not much of a park rider. Best place I went to was Cannon last year, they have one glade thats like 2000 vertical feet. Its absolutely sick with plenty of tight tree lines, 4-5 foot drops, and untouched powder days after the last snowfall.
        Loon is still pretty uptight.
I tend to ski there because most people from MA/RI/CT/etc all stop at Waterville versus the extra 20 minutes to Loon. So Loon is usually less packed.

Last time I was at whiteface, we got 18" of powder overnight. Best skiing I've EVER had.

I ride an 04 Ingemar Backman, oldschool drake f60 bindings, and old school 32 tm2 boots. I've only been on three mountains; mt. hood, stevens, and crystal. I tend to only stick to mt.hood cause it's close to home and it's one of the best mountains to ride on in my opinion. As far as riding I like parks to freeride except the hualing ass down hill part, I like to enjoy the ride down.

waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles, you arent a man if you dont like to go fast

Whiteface didnt really get a whole lot of snow this year compared to the whites, it was a major letdown. Once the spring came though and the ice turned into some softer stuff, holy shit Whiteface blew my mind

The county..... that's funny! I was going to mention Summit county but figured everyone would be like "what the fuck do we care what county you lived in!" It's only the highest concentration of expert (black diamond) terrain in North America and possibly the world. Never made it to Copper unfortunately. Usually rode at A-Basin or Keystone on powder days and Breck for the terrain parks. Spring park sessions at Breck ruled my life!

Ya dude, we've probably crossed paths before then. I've shopped at that Gart's. I was in Dillon all the time. There was a shop called Mountain Sports Outlet or something like that. I had a friend that worked there. Partied in Eagles Nest all the time. Loved that town!

No doubt. I thought I was a pretty good rider till I moved out west. It was very humbling the first time I rode with a "Rocky Mt." woman. They will kick your ass down the mountain then call you the waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles. I ended up hooking up with this girl out there that can probably still beat me down the hill! Demoralizing.

until you run into some poor kid who decides to cut you off, then you'll be pulling a r3v on your snowboard :P

ive only gone a couple times but really enjoy it.

Like the second time i ever went (still extremely novice) i was slowing down (board horiziontal to the slope) but i had too much speed....there was a skiier that was leaning on his little poles talking to a friend and i nailed him...the side of the snowboard clipped one of those things into a 90 degree angle...hah he tried to bend it back and it just snapped off....i felt bad

Dude, I got my pass pulled at Keystone for a week cause I took out a ski patroller. Dumbass was sitting at the bottom of this huge roller (I should have had a spotter) and I just boosted off it. I saw him while I was in mid air and knew I wasn't going to be able to land and carve away from him in time. So I just laid out when I landed and took him out with my board He tried getting up with his poles and one of them had gotten bent in the melee and just snapped.

                      He was pissed.

                            At the end of last season I got a Lib Tech Magne-traction (they offered a niice deal to shop employees). It is amazing! Rode pretty normal all day, till we went on the last run, toward the car. My one friend was riding down the whole way on his heel edge, the other kid was falling here and there. I didn't get it, I just rode down normally. I asked them what the deal was, and they were lamenting about all the ice;

                            the magnetraction carves through ice!

Mervin sent out a shitload of boards to shops to hold onto as demo boards, we've got 2 right now we just let people take out and try. I recommend it!
