UTI grad here as well, honestly growing up working on my own cars taught me more then most of the classes at UTI. waste of $28K if you ask me. should have gone to wyotech for the fab program but whyoming doesn't appeal to me much.

Nascar technical Institute- a branch of UTI that offers fab classes. The UTI schools are what you make them out to be, sure there is a LOT of idiots that go there, but as long as you keep your attendance perfect and grades up then you will have no problems. I got accepted into the BMW advanced training and will be attending the UTI campus in orlando in december.

Also for all the haterz including farbin, I'm living my dream and couldnt be happier with where im headed in my life. UTI allows you to live your dreams as long as you work for it. You told me to talk to you in a year, so here i am, about to go to BMW specific training and have a GUARANTEED job when i get out. What now? Yes UTI has a bad rep, but dont be one of the dumbass's they let in due to low requirements to get in. Be somebody, and you will be somebody.

YOU ARE NOT GUARANTEED SHIT. I don't give a f-k what you have read and what you have been told, you are not the dealers only option and all the people before you may not have paved the road in gold, but rather shit.

Went to Lincoln Tech, before I graduated I landed a job at a dealership in Jersey. Was sent out for training immediately when I was hired at BMW and began getting certification "achievement awards" within the company. Worked for 2 years and fucking HATED life.

Master tech who trained me was fired while his wife was in the hospital for multiple surgeries and depended on the works healthcare only to have been stuck once fired. He was let go for a level B tech fresh out of bmw's step program. He called me a few weeks after being let go and told me run the fuck away from dealer life as fast as possible.

Thank God for my wife. I just graduated with a degree in imaging modalities in healthcare. I come home with clean hands and my back and legs aren't sore with a better attitude to boot. Every now and then I go to a buddies shop and help out as I do love to wrench but not under dealer conditions with scum bags and dumbfucks.

I went to UTI, worked at an independent BMW/MB shop, and now I work at a dealership.

Guess what? UTI was a waste, I hate this god damn dealership I work for, and that independent shop was money. UTI will not guarantee you shit. They are a BUSINESS. Not a school. Ask them and I will bet money they will not deny it. $800 every 3 weeks for classes? Fuck that shit, that's how much I was paying when I was there. Even with my GI Bill, that place was a waste. And I went to the Orlando campus. I learned SO much more hands on experience than I did at UTI. I ended up moving back home and I was lucky to find a shop that would take me under their wing as an apprentice. Haven't looked back since.
