Old School BMX Legend 'Eddie Fiola' and Archie's!

For you old schoolers that remember...

Eddie Fiola was the shit back in the 80's. Dude was killing it in freestyle where ever he performed. Winning comepetion's all over the globe. Was like a rock star then but only on a bike. Crazy how good this guy was back then. Has to be credited for lots of the new school BMX freestyle that goes on today. Originator of many tricks.
Meeting him yesterday was pretty exciting. I was big into BMX then. I remember him on the cover of almost every BMX magazine through out the 80's.

Check out some pics of him chilling in The Archie's Lounge.

Here are a few of his videos.

That is awesome archie! Eddie certainly was the man back then. I have to tell you a story. I grew up on bmx all day long. In the early 80's my quest was an all white bike, but i was held back by the lack of white tires. They did not exist. The GT freestyle team came to the incomparable Rockville BMX and i was stunned to see Eddies bike with WHITE tires. My 13 year old brain could not absorb this information and i remember just standing there shaking and not knowing what to do. I talked to Eddie after the show and BEGGED him to sell me a used pair. Turns out they were prototypes and only 3 or 4 pairs existed in the world, Eddie was testing the compound to see if they would hold up. They would not be available to the public for months. After more pleading and showing him my almost all white GT he told me to come back tomorrow (2 day show) and he would sell me a worn set after the show. I could not fucking sleep that night. Eddie signed the sidewalls and i rocked those tires til they were only threads.

Here is a pic taken shortly after:

                      Guilty.

EDIT. Actually, we didn't have much money and i could not afford OP shorts. My mom taught all of us kids to sew, so those shorts are OP copies made by me. I still have another pair of grey ones i made when i was 9 or 10 .
