Just a reminder... two wheels are greater than four

So i just got an email notification that there was a reply to an 8 month old thread i started & figured it was a SIGN! i had to come back & remind you guys that 2 wheels are by far, more fun than four 8)

    so who's with me? :D

It's been a while since most of you guys have heard from me, so just in case anyone's interested in what's beein up in my life since i haven't been on here in the LONGEST fuckin time, here's an update for ya.

I'm livin in Boston, workin for tha man, trying to fund my motorcycle track/race habbit. I've been tracking the zx6r alot & have made some serious progression, enough to get bumped up to the Expert group at the track days i've been attending. I'm gettin down under the 1:30's at NHIS in the 14 turn configuration, which is gettin close to competative in the Novice category if i were to race in the Loudon Road Racing Series (cars run a 12 turn config w/ no super tight 11a and 12 just before the front straight in case you NHIS guys think 1:28-29 is retardedly slow... this is also just a track day, not a race day, and normally the bike i'm on is also my transportation back to Boston since I don't have a trailer ;))

I'll be purchasing a track only fully race preped bike in the near future and will be attending the race school (Penguin) to attain my race license by the start of next season at the very latest.

Here's a gallery w/ some of the latest shots as well as some oldies from when i first got her

and here's a couple of my favorites from a couple track days ago:

    The notoriously sketchy Turn 3.

And "The Bowl" - Turn 6.

PETE! You slimey old bastid :) I remember when you first bought the bike and you were getting those little pegs for the side in case you laid it down. Do you still have your E30?

Heh, yeah... still got the e30... she's hideous, neglected & fallin appart , but i've still got the Eta, Though i might be bumpin up to a '95 525i in the future. time will tell on that.

and I never did get those "little pegs for the side" (Frame Sliders) ;)
i just use the sliders on my knees instead

... Of course now i'm sitting at work looking at a rediculous thunderstorm outside & I just realized i didn't cover my bike this morning.....
oh well, she's a dirty whore & needed a wash ;) heh, so does the car :D

cool cool. I'm regretting selling my track r6 and will most likely pick up a bike within the next month, as the prices fall. If i can find a good deal in the meantime I may have it sooner

                keep the rubber side down

edit: lol you do trackdays without sliders? they're a good idea

i don't know how you ride, but I find I ride at a quicker pace when I don't care about my bike (obviously still well within the limits of safety). It's just a machine to facillitate the improvement of your riding

                ride safe

I'm riding at a quick enough pace to be in the expert Track Days group... and yes, I'd love to get frame sliders, but in order to mount them properly on my bike (at the engine mounts) i'd have to drill the fairings (i've got no problem with that) AND either modify or re-locate my coolant resevoir :? that's the reason why i haven't gotten them yet.

NHIS is becoming a very familiar track to me now, I've put in 5 days of track time & probably somwhere in the neighborhood of 500 laps there and I'm not riding at a pace that has me too worried about crashing, at least not in a single-bike incident... but yes, i'm very well aware that crashing is always a possibility and with it come very real consequences... that's what's keeping me in check and the reason why i'm getting a track only / race bike and keeping my zx6r on two wheels ;)

But yes, I definitely agree, frame sliders are a very good idea.

What tracks have you done? So far all i've got under my belt are 5 days at NHIS and a day & 1/2 at VIR.

It'd be pretty tough to get your head stuck under a bike.... well, unless of course it were as big as yours.
