AFAIK they can tell what people were searching for, but not who was searching for what.

Been several legal cases based, and won on a subpoena of Googles search queries, the all encompassing nature that is google really is kinda creepy

I can see it taking off if they can beat facebook on privacy. I'm willing to bet there will be a massive security breach at facebook in the future, if there hasn't been one already.. the potential is just too big for the hackers to ignore.

seriously though, people find google creepy, but not facebook, which basically says in clear words that they own all your information?

wave had some cool stuff.. the live document collaboration was freaking awesome. Most people seem to just use it to blog though.. in that I agree it's a bit of a waste. Google certainly learned some hard lessons from that one.

I predict that this will not take off, I think fB has taken to strong of a hold of the sheeple.

Like when FB wouldn't matter because everyone was on MySpace? Look where MySpace is, NewsCorp just took a BATH on that purchase. Lost something like 90%+ of its value in the last 6 years.

I understand wanting to be weary of google just based on how scary huge they are getting, but it's hard to when every single service they've provided me has been completely awesome.

I wish I could say the same for microsoft, facebook, apple, etc. As soon as they were big enough to be assholes, they became assholes.

Google plus is more benign than facebook. Nowhere in the TOS have they attempted to take ownership of the content and, even though the conspiracy site says they have no data retention policy, they have an export and fuck off tool built right into Google plus (good luck getting your shit out of and cleaned off of Facebook).

I like it. Unfortunately invites are closed so I cant get all of of my friends on it but once I do I will likely stop updating my facebook. I much prefer the simplified layout, fat trimmed website and the mobile application actually works without training the fuck out of my phone's battery like every iteration of the facebook app did.

Not that easy when Google has godmode turned on. It's no longer an issue of what you write on your profile, it's now what you search, what you read and basically everything you do online. Have a guilty interest reading serial killer fiction? Google knows that. Curious about that pesky burning when you pee? Google knows about that too. Now with G+ they'll take the liberty of mentioning it to all of your friends!

I had an invite but turned it down, it's a little too creepy for now. Though with my Android, Gmail and fondness for Google Maps I'm sure I'll end up converting as well.

I wouldn't mind an invite, how can I make that happen?

Also, when posting anything, at all, on the internet I follow a rule a marketing prof told me, "Consider anything you post on the internet fair game for the front page of your local newspaper"
