    Rooted EVO on Spring. Use Wireless Tether. I haven't updated the last 10 or so times they offered an update. The WiFi Tether works. My battery life is fine. Love the phone. Don't want to deal with the updates.

        It's Verizon, not PDANET charging the fees and making you get a tethering pan with a data limit.
