It does affect more than that one organ donor! Remember when you call 911 fire, police and medical personnel are dispatched, and respond with lights and sirens risking their lives, rushing to the scene. Than will treat said person in the middle of the street, again risking their lives! I have personally known more than a handful of people that have been injured or killed responding to emergencies!
    Then, there is the families!!

All would still be happening no matter if you had a helmet on or not!! So you point here is moot at best.

I suppose you are all for laws like this right?? because you think its the to job of govt to protect us from our selves, and legislate common sense I suppose huh??

im all for helmet laws. but i could agree to it being a choice if 2 stipulations were met.

        1. automatically an organ donor.
        2. insurance will not pay for your head injuries.

^if insurance won't pay for the injuries than your tax dollar will.

Personally it doesn't make a difference to me if there is a helmet law or not, I will never ride without one.

its like the seat belt laws, as an adult i should be able to choose whether or not i wear it, not how it works though, if i don't i still get a ticket (no matter if im in the driver in the front or the backseats in TX)

everyone should have to wear appropriate safety gear
I can run Auto Checks on VINs for tips/donations:
PM me VIN(s) and I'll get you ALL the public recorded info that I have available.

If you ride without a helmet you should automatically be considered an organ donor. I think that is a fair enough trade off.
Not trying to move this to the politics forum, I just always thought it was weird that most people (not necessarily you) accept it as a given that the government should be in the business of paying peoples medical bills. This point always comes up in helmet debates and I've never seen anyone question that given.

They always conveniently leave out the fact that motorcycle insurance you pay has a medical clause in it. And they pay out a vast majority of it

^ First: medical insurance ( at least in Florida) is not mandatory, heck auto insurance is mandatory and 35% don't have it.
Second: medical insurance has its limits, than the government ( that is you and me) kicks in!
Third: I am for helmet laws, and seat belt laws! I've been a first responder and firefighter for quite a number of years, and have seen first hand to difference between wearing both and not! and have been to more (read:MORE) than my share of funerals that could have been prevented!!
Fourth: People that say its the insurance companies trying to save money, they are idiots. Insurance companies only pay money out when somebody or something is broken , hurt or dead!!

Again there is a clause in most state minimum coverages for MEDICAL on your auto/bike policy.

Yes again I agree stupid to not wear the shit, but its still not the govts place to tell me I have to. Legislating common sense is just not a good thing, it has lead to all this protect us from our selves laws that are just well Stupid.
