Didn't mean to start an argument. Some guy on the speed demon team just told me about the plate thing. Theres alot that goes into figuring that out. Like tempature, elevation, baro pressure. The list goes on. Fluid dynamics is really cool tho. Really want to study it but I'm poor and already paying on student loans. -
Just cuz area appears in the function doesn't mean it's the only thing it depends on. Intuitively, do you think it would take the same amount of force to overcome air resistance @ any speed for a brick shaped object or a teardrop shaped object, with the same frontal areas?
Cd and frontal area tell the whole story, neither one tells it alone, I'm pretty sure.Leave a comment:

Theoretically, the faster you move, the slower time elapses in reference to the moving object. This only really works on a larger scale though. For example, when an astronaut returns from the moon, he or she is actually a few seconds or minutes (can't remember) younger than if he or she would havestayed on earth. This also relates to the concept that at the speed of light, time stops, according to the object traveling at the speed of light.Leave a comment:

Here's a random trivia/fun fact: if you want to nitpick, you shouldn't say "nick pick"

Well if you want to nick pick, you are wrong,
The Continental United States is the area of the United States of America comprised of the 48 states located south of Canada and north of Mexico (known as the "lower 48 states"), the US capital of Washington, D.C., and the state of Alaska north of Canada. The Continental United States does not include the state of Hawaii located on a group of islands in the Pacific Ocean or any other territories under the control of the United States. Some references erroneously mistake the Continental United States for the Contiguous United States (which consists simply of the lower 48 states)
Was jsut a comparison FFSLeave a comment:

clearly you mean the continental U.S.Australia is almost the same size as USA but has less than 10% of the population

We only have 6 states and 2 territories.
Fanny means vagina here (why I didnt end up with an American grandfather after a US Sailor told my grandmother to "park her fanny here sweetheart" at a movie theatre in the 1930s. She slapped him and walked out lol. True story)Leave a comment:

Yea, he did a pretty good job of making the public forget is music career when he became well known as an actor.
Search youtube for Marky Mark and have a good laugh. Some of the songs are very well known and barely anyone associates them to the (now) actor.
I have a feeling he got really pissed at someone who recently called him Marky Mark.Leave a comment:

Not always true, depends on the Cd. Very important.
Here's a fairly well known one: Mark Wahlberg was actually a hoodlum in his youth. He went to prison in his late teens and when he got out he started rapping (ever heard of Marky Mark?).
In other news, I feel really old saying "rapping."Leave a comment:

It takes roughly 600 horsepower to push a shape with a frontal Area of 1 foot squared 200 mph.
A top fuel dragster produces about 800-1000 pounds of down force out of the exhaust alone. There is also so much fuel in the engine it never atomizes. That's the reasoning behind dual 44 amp magnetos.Leave a comment:
