That's probably what she thought.
I'm not talking about control over the car, but the fact that a kid can run across the street because the "poser cop" doesn't have sirens, lights, and training to drive like that in city streets. Nor does he have the legal right to apprehend her or stop her. Ethical yes, not legal.

He already had all evidence and it would've been much better if he'd helped his passenger take care of the pedestrian.

Over here, you can make a "Citizens Arrest", so he was right in following her.
For most of the video, you can't see who's driving, and for that reason he followed her to get her on camera, towards the end of the video.
It's not an advert for anything other than to show what happened, and how she could have got away with running an innocent pedestrian over by overtaking on the opposite side of the road.
I would have done the same, chased her and got her on film.

Coming from personal experience I have assisted in the apprehension and arrest of a drunk driver by doing much of the same.

I was coming home late from my shop, while driving minding my own I notice a F-150 on my ass, then backing off then right back on my ass.

I then let him pass by pulling over, and he's all over the road. At first I said I need to get the eff out of here, then it hit me. I need to call the cops, so I did and then proceeded to follow him around while on the phone with two different city dispatchers until the police found his location.

He had pulled over and parked as he was suspicious of me following him. The cops waited for him to get back in his truck, and attempt to drive before they made the stop.

The two arresting officers thanked me, and I left knowing I made a difference.

Playing cop no, possibly saving someones life yes.

Exactly, well done.

That is terrible. What pisses me off about this situation is that she will probably, at one point or another, get her license back. I think doing dump shit while driving should have a capital offense where you lose your license and never get it back. Hitting someone while speeding and driving recklessly should be one of those things.

But then you would have grey areas where people are J-Walking and stuff.
