Parker I have noticed the weather agencies in the last few years underscore how hot or cold it really happens to be.

This summer the 1st really hot days we had in PA where I was working weather guys all said it made it to 91, when ever ones truck thermometers were saying 101-104 in the shade, and guys wives calling to see if they were ok cuz the thermometer at home was reading similar

Last winter again in Northern PA where I was working at that time, had a day where the truck thermometers never got above -9 - -12 and similar readings form other sources and yet the weather guys claimed it made it up 8 above for the same locations. It seems like this has been happening a lot in the last few years. All over the place, as I work all over.

Agreed, it is always more than they say. I can't speak to less because the coldest it has been in Phoenix since I have been here is 50. How I miss 50.

My freaking pool water is 102 right now.

              lol

Now they have heat advisories every time it gets hot and they warn people to stay inside, drink water, etc.

It would get just as hot when I was a kid here. Of it got too hot for you, you drank hot hose water or went inside. It was just common sense we did not need the news to tell us to do that.

I agree, if you're outside you drink gallons, not ounces of water and use sunscreen to protect your skin. As long as you take care of yourself and use common sense you'll be fine. Oh and an efficient A/C system to retreat to when you've had enough.

The dry heat I can take, it's when you mix in humidity like many places in the US that's what I dislike.

Ummm I dont know about that. We had a record late opening of logan pass in Glacier park this summer. Last Wednesday, is a record by 11 days from the previous set on 7/2/2008. There is still like 15+ feet up there on the pass (was up there last friday)and its rare to still have snow on the swan range this late into july as well.

But it is supposed to hit the low 90's up here even today
