    Going to Atlanta...

Going to be in Atlanta, Georgia for the first week of August. Sunday through Friday specifically. Will have classes 8-5 Monday-Friday and might be bored afterward. Anything I should attempt to go see? I won't have a rental car so walking/cab/bus range would be best. Wouldn't mind meeting some E30 guys too if possible. Teach me Atlantians. :puppy:

Atlanta is pretty spread out for a city, what part of town are you staying in and what are you into?

Also how old are you? What would you like to do? Baseball, Aqaurioum, and great food. Plus some shows may be happening.

OT, but we were talking about what ATL has to offer, I had no clue..

I'll be arriving Saturday night, will have Sunday to gander around. I'm going for some BMW training. Honestly not sure the exact name of the area, I'll find out today. Not realy big on baseball but I love to try different food and enjoy scenic areas. Also love long walks on the beach.

The beach will be pretty tough. Let me know where you are staying though.
Freeride, if your friend is staying near Emory, there are some awesome places to eat there. Everybody's has great pizza, Rise and Dine is the place for breakfst, there is a burger joint next door to it as well. These are all within walking distance to the campus. Decatur is close as well. It has a cool downtown area with some great pubs, and awesome food choices. Leon's, Taqueria Del Soul, Watershed, Farm Burger, Noodle, Raging Burrito. The possibilities are pretty much endless.

As far as sights go, we boast the largest aquarium in the SE, if not the country, there is stone mountian, The Varsity, Little 5 Points, Atlantaic Station, East Atlanta Village, Piedmont Park, Virginia Highlands. If you skateboard, our downtown public park just opened in old fourth ward. I am sure there will be some type of outdoor festival as well. And of course America's team... the Braves.

I guess I should have put some more sarcasm on the beach part. I've heard the school is south of Atlanta...I gotta ask the guy that made hotel reservations for us where exactly it is.

It's probably down by the airport. Which means there isn't alot to do per-say. It can be pretty ghetto down there.

lol. The hotel I'll be in is the Courtyard Atlanta Roswell, so Roswell it is. Hook it up man if they don't change our flight it will be myself and one other new tech looking for something to do.

Near Emory, you forgot to mention the Brickstore in Decatur.. One of the best Beer pubs on the East Coast.

Yeah, there are some amazing food stops by the airport, but it's pretty hood around there for the most part. However, there is some AMAZING food that way.. I always recomend for people to stay at the Highland Inn. It's pretty cheap, nice and you're right into the mix of some good Atlanta treats.
