Congrats to John Parker - Puget Sound BMWCCA Best of Show

What an upset! Hard work has certainly paid off, and I like how the least expensive car of the 1st place category competing for Best Of Show won it...

Heres one of my shitty cell phone pictures.

I can only imagine the hours put in to keep it that clean. So not worth it to me. I keep a thin layer of dirt protection on all my cars.

This car is pretty much a handbuilt-e30.
The build thread blows my mind.

Congrats! I was at the show and there were some very nice cars, so for him to win this is awesome!

Thanks! It was quite a shock for me as well. I didn't know what to say, I was just speechless.

I'm going to post pictures of it in my build thread and members rides when things slow down a little bit here at the shop. We also have a full photo shoot coming up for the local CCA magazine.

Everyone that helped put in so much work, simply winning first place was not enough so all the judges were saying "hey, we heard you like winning, so we put BEST OF SHOW on your first place win so you could win while you win!"

I dunno...The Puget Sound BMW CCA Concours is a pretty big deal. That vid I posted shows very few people, but that is because everyone is huddled under the tree, trying to be in the shade, it was pretty hot for us PNW dorks.

There was an M1, a 303 (not sure of year) possibly the best E9 I have ever seen, several E31s, a pristine 507 (peoples choice winner) and lots of those newer cars I don't give a shit about...I would guess about 150ish cars. For our Johnnie-poo to win best of show is a HUGE upset. Now he needs to build a race winning PRO3 car, get his little shop on the books in a big way!

Yes, this really was an amazing win, beating a perennial winner, a 1988 henna E30M3 with 43,000 miles, garaged its entire life while being pampered and cleaned with Q tips.

For our boy John to win against that garage queen with his old track-rat-turned-councours-car that he built in a tiny little 1 car garage...well, it really is that big a deal.

I think we may even call it a "Caswellian" win.
