    The r3v motor home thread.

I'm thinking of purchasing one, I move around quite a bit & it seems like a viable housing solution for the summer months, as well as a great way to storm chase in the winter. I'm currently looking at a 1976, it needs some work, naturally, but it runs & drives. Heat works, oven, stove, bathroom appliances, and all electrical items work as well.

Who in r3v land owns or has owned a motor home, and has pics or experiences they want to share? Any advice or word of wisdom as welcome.

How cheap are you getting this thing for? That thing looks pretty hagard.

Just like cars, you are better off getting one in the best condition or you will put way more money into it in the end.

This man is absolutely right! I had one exactly like this through college. I will post pictures of the Love Palace later tonight after work. It was a blast.

Heres one I found in an old thread:

It went to tailgate parties, concerts in the woods, Sebring 12 hrs, and many other roadtrips. Mostly dudes in this pic, but believe me, many girls were bent over in that shag and woodgrain interior.

                      Ever seen Breaking Bad?

We got that shit all over the 540. Seems once a month someone's middle class redneck trailer is blowin' up in the national forest. Also, forget about buying cough medicine. Gotta hit Basic City to get that shit as Wal-Mart quit carrying it.

That, ans we're not even in the city. We're a quiet, factory workin', farming community, well, except for me and my friends who tear this bitch up.

here's mine. We don't use it enough, so I wanna sell it. We did a "resto" on it a few years back because it was in terrible condition when we got it. It is built on a 1982 Mercedes chassis with a 4 banger gasoline motor in it that sucks down gas like no tomorrow. The thing is a ton of fun when it is being used, but a very expensive toy to keep registered and not use.

OP get something as NEW and in AS BEST shape as you can, as mentioned earlier.

the newer ones have better engines, and are lighter, and just are plain better.
