The amount of work, machinery, and man-power to create a car is just insane and this video just scrapes the surface. I am blown away to think about how much engineering work goes into designing a car and building/programming the machinery involved in the process. I am not getting any sound on these videos when I am watching them, but it is still awesome though.
Part 1
Highlights
3D computer model of the E30 from long ago (1982?), I cant imagine the cost of the computer and software used for that!
Designers of the cracked dash
The world's first r3v
Wind-tunnel / streamline testing
I bet every one of these has grenaded or been swapped out by now
This man cries every night about the current market value for a set of bottlecaps
Did this trip anyone else out the first time? I thought he was throwing a new quarter panel at a partially built car
Not quite sure....
Painting and sealing process begins
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Part 2
Highlights
Crankshaft castings put on a lathe for machining, engine assembly begins
Intake manifold casting showing the casting cores (tan colored pieces) , a freshly cast manifold, and molten aluminum being poured into a mold
M30 and eta engines on the assembly line
Bench-testing an eta engine
LOL M10
Body trim pieces installed
