Canadian beer being higher in alcohol is a joke

Its a myth. All the bottles Ive seen were 5% or less. I think that is was invented by people who sip bud light their whole life. The Old Rasputin is 9% that I pick up in my packie. That's made by Northcoast (domestic.)

And where the hell do you buy good beer in Ontario anyways? The communist beer store doesn't have anything but fuzzy yellow beer.
Ma che cazzo state dicendo? :|

There are some states in the Union, Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and Utah (also Missouri but the law is written in such a way that no one really sells it), that only allow you to buy 3.2% alcohol in the grocery store/gas station.

Have to go to the liqour store for any of the real beer.

Well, there are high gravity (7% ABV+) Canadian macrobrews--Molson XXX and Labatt Max. They don't taste very good, though.

Did you see any places carrying Unibroue? If the selection is Canadian-centric, that might be a place to start.

I've had the same experience when Ive gone to Canada. Everyone is like, "watch out, our beer is stronger than yours." But its the same swill they macrobrew here, just with Frenchist sounding names. I guess when you are pounding piss 2% can make a difference but Im used to microbrews.
        Im now E30less.

watery ice beers. yuck. my father in-law always complains about the beer here but then he goes and buys a case of miller, in cans. Uhm.. you can get a full selection of microbrews at any grocery store here? why would you buy that crap?

the alcohol selection really sucks up there, and it costs a fortune, even compared to hugely taxed WA prices.

Maybe there's a alcohol percentage converter from Canadian to American? You know, like the dollar.

This was not a myth 15 years ago, the US has just become more advanced in their beer laws. Stop with the stupid threads.

Doesn't matter kid. It still isn't a MYTH. Ask an adult about things before posting useless threads, like in Bsaint's case. We are here for a reason, to explain how the world was once a better place without you lazy youngsters ;)
Kind of like the search button. Think about how hard it was to get shit done 8 years ago... you had to actually ASK Nando for help, instead of searching through threads and getting the right answers, only to ask the same question again and have him go off on you...
                        Yours truly,

Beechwood-aged Budweiser has always been 5.0% ABV. In areas that 3.2 beers could be bought when you were 18, then yes, maybe Canadian beers could be considered way more powerful.

When I was in Vancouver last year they could only sell you one beer at a bar that served food before you had to spend five bucks on food. And yes the beer selection was very weak, especially compared to the PNW.
