No harm was done to him or his bike! Just a small love tap, thank god!
I live right next to the Golden Gate Bridge. All the exits and entrances to and from my house are some of the most nerve racking I have ever driven in my life. There are always mounds of tourists who have no idea where they are going, along with 2-4 lanes of traffic merging into each other simultaneously within a VERY short distance.
There is also a lot of construction happening on this stretch of road the amount of lanes and/or the location of the exits/entrances keep changing to accommodate the road cruse. This confuses the traffic even more.
I have recently avoided a few incidents with other motorists when they realized they were in the wrong lane, stopped, backed up, and sped over a solid white line to avoid exiting/entering the highway.
I have even seen someone do a U turn in the middle of the highway to revers direction.
All these factors make me keep a very heightened sens awareness when driving this stretch of road. This is the only resin nothing bad happened today.
As soon as I felt the small tap of the cyclists handle bare on my passenger side I corrected back into my lane.
I should have been paying even more attention, but the guy came flying up into my blind spot with a black bike and black helmet and leathers.
For those of you that ride, PLEASE ware some bright colors, and remember that when your cutting between lanes that cars have blind spots! It makes life so much easier for drivers.
My best friend just got hit on his bike a few months ago and is almost completely paralyzed (polarized edit lol!). My biggest fear while driving is hitting some one on a bike!!!!!!!!!!
I am SOOOOOOOO happy I reacted quickly today, and was not swerving into my exiting lane like a jack ass other wise... well it would not have been good.
Cool story bro
I had to share it
