    1989 Hino SG 193 Class A?

    i was curious if anyone can give me some info about different class licenses for driving big trucks. i might be driving a 1989 Hino SG193, its single axel with air brakes, 6 speed. any info at all would help. thanks.

    hmm might of found something saying that air breaks arent the issue. its your GVWR of 26,00 pounds or under and u dont need a CDL. but any other info would be appreciated.

      if its under 26k you would only need a class b with air break endorsement per US DOT rules IIRC. Its been a long while since let CDL lapse so I could be a little off.

        26,000lbs and under no CDL required. Air brakes are irrelevant.

            Negative. Weights determine need for CDL. There are no endorsements without CDL. And even then it isn't an air brake endorsement but there could be an air brake restriction depending on the vehicle he road tests with.

            GVWR 26000 under needs no CDL. He can haul a trailer under 10001 to boot, nothing changes.

            A vehicle with GVWR over 10000 and doing it in this capacity will require a medical certificate with few exceptions.

                    Ahhh thanks, its been a long while since I have had any dealings with a a CDL personally.
