i was curious if anyone can give me some info about different class licenses for driving big trucks. i might be driving a 1989 Hino SG193, its single axel with air brakes, 6 speed. any info at all would help. thanks.

if its under 26k you would only need a class b with air break endorsement per US DOT rules IIRC. 26,000lbs and under no CDL required. Air brakes are irrelevant.

GVWR 26000 under needs no CDL. He can haul a trailer under 10001 to boot, nothing changes.
A vehicle with GVWR over 10000 and doing it in this capacity will require a medical certificate with few exceptions.Last edited by CabrioPunk; 08-24-2011, 09:43 PM.

Class B -- Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing a vehicle not in excess of 10,000 pounds GVWR.
