    Half.com is the best. Most reliable too.

    I never bought a book after my sophomore year, and I was a science major ($X,000 in books)
    It's not all that convenient, but check if your professor places any in the library on reserve. Almost all of mine did. I'd just go to the library to use them... forced me to focus during that time as well.
