My brother got his dick infected when he was 5, and dad decided to get him circumsized then. I am 3 years older than him and dad decided that I too better get 'er done. EIGHT. YEARS. OLD. I had to wear my dad's boxers for two weeks just so I didn't get the chaff on my newly stitched up dick. If I recall 20 years ago correctly my dick head before the cut was almost too sensitive to touch. It almost hurt too much to clean, and it was always slimy from left over little drips of pee getting trapped. Maybe had it been kept shrouded it would have desentisized itself as I grew older. Still, sex is great and I can't imagine what a more sensitive head would do to my sexlife - quite possibly ruin it.

From a more practical viewpoint, as a service memeber we often endure days on end without a proper shower other than a quick bird bath (baby wipes). Sink into a marsh in the middle of a night patrol and you have a swampy wet crotch for the next 4 hours. A cut dick is easier to maintain in those situations. Quick wipe down, quick dash of foot powder and you're fresh again. Can't say the same with a stock dick.

The foreskin only covers the head when the dick is in the resting state. When you're ready for action there is no loose skin, it is all retracted back, or rather stretched out as the shaft reaches the fully erect state. And the head is completely out in the open, just like an uncircumcised one, with all its German military helmet glory.
