Someone r3v'd his e30/m20 body harness! Fixed now :)

This is why one should never replace a fuse with one that's larger when it blows. Customer came in and not only did the 30amp fuse blow in a 10amp socket, he decided to jump it with a wire :(

#10 fuse wire burned all the way to the reverse switch and took out several others in the process. He said he shut it off right way, but the shielding was completely gone!

I wouldn't have taken the job normally since we are a performance shop, not repairs except for the regulars that come in for preventative maintenance - but he is getting an HX35 when it's back together.

As a down payment (besides the cash), he gave me a 318 shell that had good Bilstein HD's, slotted rotors, SS brake lines, g240 and a SETA motor in the trunk. Been hacking away at that harness to repair this one, everything is soldered, heat shrunk and re-wrapped in OEM cloth tape.

We are about 10hrs into the job now, got about another 6-8 more to go before the dash etc can go back in if my estimates are correct.

Sorry for my noobyness, but are there normally that many wires under the dash and those ones just happen to be all over the place? Pretty intimidating to say the least.

On allot of cars the same age there are not as many wires. However our e30's have a metric shit ton of electronics. From the altimeter that tells the computer the air density to the OBC. So yea, those are usually neatly tucked (read stuffed) up under the dash.
