Besides having an ankle made out of titanium, plastic and stainless steel -- my limp got me a disabled parking permit in college. Everyone in my fraternity lent me their cars if I drove them to class. Today my ankle is much worse and I have too much pride to get a disabled permit although I sure look funny wincing and limping across a parking lot. I keep telling myself to lose 50 lbs and it won't hurt as much but...
    Sorry, off topic, just walk

I never pay for parking at school. Fucking rip-off is an understatement. I usually take the bus, but when I'm super late or it's a nice day to go driving, I'll drive one stop short of the campus, park in a neighborhood for free, and take the bus 1 stop.

Wanna see if anyone here gets by/has gotten by having a car at school with them, without paying outrageous permit fees..and if you have any tips/tricks.
I used my dad's Truck, you know all blacked out and with mexican licence plates! No one bothered me, but I live in the border if the U.S. And Mexico.

Ok here is what you do. Get away with parking on campus as long as you can. Once you get that inevitable ticket, keep it. Every time you park put it back under your windshield wiper. Ticketing officer will see that you have already been ticketed and not bother checking. $40 ticket paid for = $40 parking permit.

It's usually a state police run university police system. I got screwed multiple times. My last name did not match up with anybody and somehow they caught me. Still had to pay $50 for a couple of tickets to graduate. College definitely does have some rock between a hard place bullshit and parking is one of them. Forge the pass.

                Answer: Don't go to school.hahah
i go to csuf and everyone parks off campus and walks over. i only have one class on main campus so i just buy a 2 hr pass ($4 as opposed to $200+ for the semester). all my other classes is on their irvine campus where i can park with my community college pass (even though i dont go there anymore) which costs $30/semester.

Just velcro your tags - when you park take them off and cover your vin - can't tow or ticket something that has no id - what? - you gonna get a ticket for a black car -hah -
worked for me... but that was a while ago... pay to park? - you already helped pay for the road if you've paid taxes. not like you'll likely get ss anyway.
                        just my 2cents.
