    So SAAD

Shame to see what used to be a cool car company swirling around the drain ...

    http://www.cnbc.com/id/44453027

Had a '74 Saab 99LE in college. Not fast by any means but I still remember it fondly -- it handled reasonably well and had great brakes had quirky charm (backwards engine and floor-mounted ignition) and was pretty damn reliable. (Photo isn't my car, but mine was the same model/color/soccer-ball rims.)

Not surprised at all, Afterall, GM was the one who saved them in the 90's, now that they sold them off to someone else, it's only a matter of time. But on the other hand, they probably would have been gone a few years back if GM still had their hands on them.

        ^for shame!

        I cannot stand that article.

Saab is on rough ground however it is far from being dead. GM kept them afloat but did more harm than good turning Saab into a castrated ghost of what they were. What Spyker's long term goal is going to be bringing Saab back from the edge of Beige (Castriota's 9-3 design alone is reason enough to invest).

So.....when SAAB goes under, can we crush all the old ones and pretend they never existed?

This one looks better than anything SAAB ever designed.

I hope you're right. Be nice if they came back from the brink with something like they used to build.

Do you personally spit on SAAB parts before shipping them out?

I know I do before giving them to the tech. He then takes a dump on them before install. Shitty parts for shitty cars.

see now thats cool because its quirky and downright weird I like shit like that.. But newer saabs seem like you need a pipe , a monacle and one of those houndstooth hats in order to own it

Saabs aren't awful, they're just weird. They're built for long-distance travel in cold climates. They don't really make sense in places like, say, Los Angeles.

Saab is going under. Naturally, I very much want one right now. Been shopping 9-5 wagons.
