Dewalt DW160 almost took my finger off.

Before I even start, Yes it was plugged in when I changed the bit. If you say you have never done it you are one in a million.

I just need to talk about that a truly dangerous drill the Dewalt DW160 is. The trigger is a long bar that runs the length of the handle. So you pick it up and its on. I have been a Dewalt owner for 20 plus years and I love there tools for the most part.

Last night as I went to use this for the first time. As I was tightening the chuck with the Key the unit fired up grabbed my glove and pulled my fingers in. I was only able to free my self after pulling the plug. I lost most of my middle fingers skin to the teeth of the chuck. As I tried to stay calm my young daughter asked, daddy why are you bleeding. This tool is a true menace, and it does not even have reverse.
    Thanks for letting vent.

    Eric

Well there's you problem...real men don't use gloves.

I did cabinets for a number of years and got used to not wearing anything on my hands even a wedding ring. They are well known for being the item that ends up making people lose fingers with tools. The only gloves i use for pretty much anything are rubber gloves for automotive use.
