My buddy Richey somehow got his shorts and scrote wound up in the chuck of a cordless Makita one time. I'll have to say that you got off easy compared to him Eric!

That's just a flesh wound. I literally have an "Injuries" folder on Facebook filled with pictures of cuts/gouges/wounds that are similar to that. Life hurts some times.

I hired a greenhorn to my construction crew and he did that very same thing, after I told him to unplug it for swapping bits. I see people do it all the time with sawzalls, angle grinders etc. I have no idea why people don't unplug every time...made for tearing shit up so that is enough for me to pull the plug.

the one form my post before was a Old one form the 80's (even now they dont make them like that anymore) Before I could let go it basically sucked me up off the ground and tried to wad my whole body around it and up into the sub floor between the joists. I thought for sure it was going to my hands or arm off before it wound down

Anyone ever use an old school gear drive drill? We had one at my last job, I used it for drilling on engine blocks. If the drill bit ever cought you'd better be holding on because that shit will rip your hands off! Hahah

I would let go of something if it began to rip my hands off. Just FYI.

This is one of the reasons why I spend the extra couple $ on black Uline nitriles instead of those shitty diamond latex gloves or any of the other crap sold at autozone, etc. They're tough and durable, but when stressed they rip instead of twisting and stretching. I used to buy diamonds until my hand almost got sliced off by a gravity band saw. Glad you kept your fingers brew.

When i was taking machining classes there was a girl in the class with with a big curly 'fro about the size of a largish pumpkin. She was teamed up with another dude and they were drilling a hole on a mill and she leaned in to get a closer look..

She was supposed to be wearing a hat and that mill didn't even notice she was there, although it looked like a big brown cotton candy from the county fair after.

It took off 40% of her hair to the scalp and she sure as hell wore a hat after that but probably for multiple reasons. Rotating tools with HP are no joke.

I was running new drain lines in a new house and had to use one of those angle drills.. those things are fucking dangerous. I was in between 2 floor joyces and up on a ladder to boot, and about every 20 rotations it would CATCH and basically lock the bit and spin the handle.. shit was ridiculous. You need to be 100% square on your cut, or you will get spun. I've seen full grown men thrown off of ladders because they were torqued completely off balance.

                              tl:dr: TOOLZ. DANGEROUS.
