Can anyone help me out? I need a decent free mp3 ripper, or one that I might be able to find for free on Limewire.

Froenhoffer is the inventor of MP3. All codecs are licenced through them, they sound best, IMHO. http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...er_3_Codec.htm
Should have a link to download LAME, which is IMHO the best.
Otherwise, I promise .WMA is WAY better sound, regardless of size, PLUS is smaller files.
