I was looking to try a new brand of razor the other day and googlin for reviews preferences etc.

I found that straight razor shaving is kind of in the midst of a small revival. As well as the use of the comparably more modern safety razors.

I bought a new Merkur 180 safety razor to start with just to see how i liked it....havent receieved it yet.

Seeing as the r3v community is such an eclectic bunch, I'm sure there's one or two of you who may be using these kind of razors already and just wondering how you like it over the disposables

I tried the straight razor thing a while back, while its the best when you get it right!

You will get it WRONG more times than you would care too and that hurts

I just have been sticking with my Gillet Fusion faster safer and easier since I normally shave in the shower with out a mirror.

Oh and dont shave your pubes with a straight razor its a scary experience, I will never do that again !!!!!!!

I use electric. Fuck shaving. I just use the side burn trimmer and leave it. I'm Jewish, so I shouldn't be shaving anyways.

If you absolutely need a clean shave.. you can use a Mach 3 comfortably for 30-35 shaves before you absolutely need to change the blades.. ask me how I know.

If you don't need a clean shave, but a close shave (looks like 5 o'clock shadow just shaved).. just get a nice trimmer like the BodyGroom http://www.amazon.com/Philips-BG2040...8010980&sr=8-1 and use it on your face.. it says "NOT FOR USE ON FACE PLZ OMG" but they want you to buy the $500 electric face shavers.. and from my experience, they all suck. Plus, you can go from balls to anus to face all in one clean sweep and have pricklies all over your body.

Mach 3 everyday but I have been wanting to pick up a straight razor for an extra close shave. Expensive to get a quality one and all the accessories though.

Antique shops man you can find really good quality old school straight razors for cheap as shit just make sure they dont have ANY knicks in the edge and get a good srtop. Work it for a while to put the edge back on it and you will be good to go for less than 30 bucks

I just trim neck line as well. I've actually heard a couple guys doing laser hair removal just for the neckline.

Been using a quattro for several years now, can't complain. Have two different electric razors, both suck the balls.

I use a Gillette Fusion, it works great I get a really clean shave.

I use Gillette Sensor 3 and get a comfortable close shave. I probably would not spring for the extra $ the sensor costs if i didn't shave my whole head.
