    Chance for a free 88' 735i

My dad is offering me a free 88 735i. This car was originally his, he sold it to an acquaintance who ended up passing away, and the family gave the car back to my dad.

It's in rough shape cosmetically. Motor mileage is in the high 100's to low 200's. Automatic tranny is screwed up apparently. Dad says it goes into gear and drives, but will leak all of the ATF out...thinks it's a whole in a seal or something. He doesn't want to deal with it.

Is this thing worth anything..parts..etc? I know the 3.5 can be used for a swap...but I honestly don't know enough about these things.

    Advice?

It's free! Take it and fix it. Rims and drop it...or take it and sell it...make $$$$$.

Definitely worth at least $6-800 in mechanical parts, I would strip it and sell everything you can. A bunch of the e32 stuff swaps over to the e34 so you'll have a larger market than just the e32s.

Do this. Do not attempt to keep it as a driver.

I wouldn't attempt to keep and drive it. Thing is ugly as fuck. And I don't have room at my house to part it. I'd have maybe 1 week before my HOA would be shitting bricks.
I might just throw it on craigslist and someone can come tow it home and part themselves.

Car is in San Diego county, near Barona Casino. It would take a team of Army Recon to find my dads house out there. A tow from his place to my house in Temecula would be more than the car is worth. I'd have to rent a tow dolly

i would come pick it up but my dad is not down to drive to SD to get it and our truck isnt capable of doing anything over 35 mph.

                        but good luck with it
