well I left my house at 11 oclock am on wednesday afternnon and I just got to Dallas yesterday at abotu 5 oclock pm.....I did not stop driving at all....only to get gas....it was a freaking parking lot all the way here. I almost got in so many wrecks and was worried as hell. My family all drove our own cars and me and my sister got seperated from my parents and our cell phones didnt work but fortunatley we found a hotel to plug our ph it was ones in and use them til they worked. The roads are nuts its insane it was like something out of a movie. The funny thing is while i was on beltway 8 in Houston i look to my left and see a lowered white e30 and it was none other then Robert (robert325is) and we where driving at like 5mph next to eachother for like 4 hours.....Anyways I'm real tired so I thought I'd give everyone an update.....I've never wished that I drove an automatic til i drove 24 hours with my foot coming on and off the clutch in standstill traffic :?

Brendan good to hear that you and Robert got out. I'm staying in my house. Had to work yesterday to get everything backed up and by then I couldn't even get out of my neighborhood due to the traffic on highway 90. There were so many cars running out of gas and breaking down I figured I'm better just staying here.
Hopefully this thing will continue to trend to the east and go in through the rice fields and stay away from all the people here.
I wonder if there has ever been an evacuation this big. They are saying close to 2 million people on the roads getting out of here. For those of you that have never been to Texas, Houston is about 260 miles south of Dallas. the traffic was a complete parking lot all the way there and the same in every other direction and there is no gas between here and there. This is a massive area.
News just said a levee is breaking in New Orleans and already starting to flood part of the town. Hell Rita is still 200 miles out in the gulf.

Yeah its basically a ZOO on the roads....people started driving down the shoulders and some even hopped lanes and started driving northbound on the southbound lanes before the authorities came and changed those lanes to northboudn ones....There have been alot of wrecks too. My friend got his Camaro totalled when he got rearended by an f350 with a grill guard.....he said his car almost flipped over.....Its gonna suck ass to drive back now, but at least the hurricane has started to move away from my house so hopefully I'll have one to go back to.

Traffic here was pretty bad yesterday, I-10 eastbound was a parking lot up to the Miss. bridge. Now we have a shitload of people from N.O. AND Texas.

All I got was a ton of rain this time since I was now on the other side of the storm. During Katrina we got next to no rain, but alot of wind.
