Any one know of any Data Recovery Companies?

My 1TB western digital external harddrive didnt turn on yesterday and I think it was cause one of my friends tried turning it on with his little "universal" power center battery pack thing he had. Im pretty sure we blew up the safety transistors in it since its not turning on at all.

Anybody have this happened before, and know of any data recovery places that dont charge $500-1800?

I would appreciate any help you can offer. Im pissed cause I graduate in 3 weeks and I lost all of my college work including my senior project data/papers, as well as 25,000 songs and 350+ movies.

If you think its an issue with the power supply, try cracking open the case and pulling the drive out. you may be able to just plug the drive into a USB-SATA bridge.

Well I tried the SATA bridge and my PCB board started smoking right as I plugged it into the wall. So it looks like im going the expensive way....time to start selling shit I never wanted to sell.
