Just imagine how fun winter would be with this.

    Can any drifters chime in?
The ix viscous one is variable from 0-90% and does it itself on demand.

Then there are the followers who are lazy and scared by a challenge and will tell you every think is a waste of time unless they have seen a good write up of it, basically big fat hairy pussies, and apparently that is what mosy of R3V is.

There is also a lot of common sense in this thread. It's a cool idea, but "not being able to find an LSD" sounds like a terrible reason to start a project like this. You'd have and LSD found an in before you had a ASD apart

uh, not quite. it's gonna start at 0% and go up as it heats up... and when you heat it up too much it will not lock up as much as if it was new.

Maybe so but there are plenty of race E30's out there that would love to have an adjustable LSD on the fly and a new race ASD is big $$$$. If you did fab up a system for this at least he could then replicate and sell them.

I have to take some measurements when I have some time. I have both cars so that's not an issue.

You wouldn't have to take the ASD apart. The only thing you'd need from the donor car is the ASD (differential) itself, nothing else.

I understand that part. Just haveing all the lines, adjuster, resivior and maybe anything else you might need to mount the diff in a kit would be great.
