The ix viscous one is variable from 0-90% and does it itself on demand.

There are 2 kinds of people in this world Do'ers people who are not afraid to try shit out, they know the meaning you learn from your mistakes. These guys are the one's that make S5x swaps possable.

Incidentally I found a 3.91 ix a couple days ago. If all goes well, that's what I'll buy.
I just like the idea of controlling the LSD depending on conditions. If "making it work" was such a hurdle, we wouldn't have 24V swaps. It really isn't as complcated as it sounds. The ratio is a problem though. Seems there's a 3.67, still to long for me though, but it would work.

you can modify the lockup of e30 diffs with cramming more clutches in it.

honestly I'm not sure why you'd waste your time. Might as well just get a nice aftermarket 2way LSD

You don't use any of the electronics. It's basically like adding a brake bias lever.

The most likely place to find an MB ASD is a 4matic 300e or te with a 3.29 ratio. Making work in an E30... good luck with that.

Yeah, but what limit are most BMW LSD's? 25% new? What about used ones?
Not necessary, just a very interesting option.

buy a cheap LSD out of the states, have them pull it apart, throw it in 2 boxes. you will still be under 300 euros, and you can even get a 4,10 large housing-non existent in the E.U.

I'd bet you could get an e30 diff in and working before you can get that in and working.
