yes, me too but that body with the fresh coat of red paint looks pretty good! please see if you can find me some pix of a 24v 164 engine shoehorned into a gtv. i wonder if it will fit under the hood?

Its been done, but I don't have the slightest clue why you would want to. It makes the front end WAY heavy and creates a ton of odd issues.
Hmmm, I wonder what shipping would cost? That IS a good deal. All the 1300 engines Ive seen lately are like $6K.

i guess if its that good of a deal, who cares? it would be worth it to have someone go to his house, crate it up and ship it to you if you had to.
i have an account with aaa cooper. shipping quotes to get an s52 to cali (l.a. area) are around 300+ dollars. this would be dropping the engine off at the nearest freight terminal and picking it up at a terminal(or dropped off to a commercial address)
i am in the process of getting an account with forward air. i think the rate with them would be even cheaper and they actually have terminals all over the country.
if i were you, i would at least get in contact with him and see if he has any other parts. fyi, he does have another ad or two on craigs right now.

I did send the guy an email. A 1300 weighs a lot less than an S52. I was able to pick up the full bottom end of the 750 Veloce engine that was in the car by myself. (In hindsight, I sold that for way too little. Granted it was frozen, but aside from that everything was in good shape internally. I'm kinda kicking myself for that now.)

I did get more work done on the car this weekend. All the brake hardlines are removed, cleaned and for the most part, look brand new. I also removed the fuel hard line from the tank. It also has been cleaned and looks new. I removed the steering box/column got that cleaned up. The only things left in the dash are the pull switches for the headlights ect. They aren't interested in parting with the knobs, and I don't really want to break the knobs as a new set is nearly $400. They just need to soak in some PB blaster for a bit and should pull off. The car is now stripped down to the front and rear windows, suspension and wiring harness. everything else is off the car. Now, if only the body guy would get his act together so I can take him the car...
In other less cool news, my Sprint project just got shoved to the the backburner again. My landlady informed me that she is turning my place into an Air B&B place and I hav3 3 months to get out. Sadly, assuming I can find a place with a garage, moving there is going to eat $4K easy, and my rent will double. In order to move I'll have to use my entire budget for the Sprint. :curse:
Yeah. I'm pretty bummed out, especially after all the work I've put into it in the past few months. I should likely go rattle can some primer on it since its sitting totally stripped of paint. At least rattle can primer will keep it from rusting due to humidity in the air.
