Well that sucks. Yeah, get everything covered with sealer-primer. You can always strip it off again when you can do more work.

Got another Busso for the Milano to replace original lump (blown HG).

Original sits in garage as backup (and parts donor...valve covers, flywheel, detensioner, etc.).

        Good work.

How does the detail work where the output shaft comes out through(?) the rear motor mount? I've never seen that bit out of the car. Is there a rear seal, then an attached output flange? Is it bolted right to the crank? The flywheel is back in the transaxle?

Out of rear block order is crank shaft, rear main seal, starter flywheel, bell housing with intregrated rear mount in its tail. The flywheel has studs that attach the front guibo and front section of driveshaft to the engine.

Oh, I see...flywheel is at the front... It's a small flywheel just for the starter teeth? is there another one in back for the clutch?

So in that pic, is that the bell housing and engine mount in one piece we're looking at?

Yes flywheel for starter in front and flywheel for clutch in transaxle case in rear of car.

Yes bell housing is the aluminum casting on the right hand side of the first pic.

I'm really leaning in the direction of black. That Sprint looks really good in black.

i love most alfas. never been able to get behind the spider, the 164, the milano, or guilia. i do love that 24v engine from later 164's however.

i lament that this thread has gone almost dormant since blackbird stopped working on his guiletta. :(

I'm still waiting on the bodyshop. I've managed to sell enough stuff off, and save enough $ that I think I can move from my current place without getting into the funds for the Alfa. It will be tight, but I think I can pull it off. Now, if only I could find a place to move to... (Its a matter of meeting an agreed policy of pretty much all the rental agencies that want my monthly income to be three times the rent. In other words, if I want to rent a place for $1500 a month which is the going rate for all the decent places around here, I need to make $4500 a month. That is just to be considered for a place. No one at my workplace makes that kind of money aside from the upper management people. Its insane.)
