    Have i lost my mind?

I just put up a feeler thread for my beloved E30. Ive been kicking the idea around for quite some time, I just dont know if it makes sense for me to have a heavily modified E30 and need to have a second car as a DD.

I do love my E30, but with money being tight I'm considering parting with her and picking up a more stock e30 or 02 as a weekend fun car that i can still daily if i want to. Have i lost it?

    Current Car: 2011 BMW 135i, M-Sport, 6 speed

I would be dead now if I depended on an e30 as a DD.

take it for what you will.

not taking anything away, just realistic.

If your car doesn't need a bunch of costly maintenance coming up or isn't rusting into the ground, why would you pick up an unknown quantity?

It you want a stock E30, take off the aftermarket stuff, sell it, and put that money in the bank.

If you think your money is tight now, wait till you only have an e30 as a dd.

                This.

Especially if you want to recover any decent portion of money you spent on all the mod parts.

sounds like a nice, safe, economical honda civic might be calling your name.

If lucky, the E36 will die peacefully, in its natural habitat, and be given the prestigious honor of donating its parts to an E30

So what exactly makes your e30 not a viable daily driver?

the car can be driven as a daily, and i used it as such for months. It is nice to have a second car to take my gf out, not sweat/freeze my ass off, worry about potholes, safe parking, tickets etc... . But the real issue is me having to worry about a second car (i dont want to park it outside), so i will need to rent or find a garage to keep it in and then there is insuring two cars, and of course the constant temptation to buy more shit for it.

I just feel at this time in my life, with money being tight in a shitty econonmy it might make more sense to sell the e30, and the Tahoe and buy something that is a practical semi-fuel effiecient car that i can also have some fun with. Maybe a subie? or a well maintained stock e30/28/34 and dare i say e36?

Sell Tahoe, pull off aftermarket junk, bring your cars maintenance current.

                              Profit.
