Honestly I think this really depends where you are in your life. I don't currently have an e30, I just don't have the time to devote to it. I bought it originally for the fun of wrenching on it. I don't have the space to keep it and another car, and I just wanted something with some more comforts for dd'ing. I will one day purchase another and miss mine everyday, but at this stage in my life with not much space and not much time to wrench it just was not worth keeping it around.

BTW: I sold the MINI and have a 2006 330i. Its fun and a great daily. Plus it has 4 doors for potential children.

I had and E46, and loved it. I regret selling it to this day. I think parting with the E30 and tahoe for a nice DD might be my best route, as i dont have time or space to work on a car. Plus its time for me to get serious with school and let cars take a back seat until i can devote more time and money to them a few years down the road.

NOthing wrong with that. I got tired of it last year and sold my E30 (huge regret), went through a couple of different cars, now have a truck as a DD and picked up a Miata as a track rat.

I have never understood these threads, yes I'm in Germany, but I honestly cannot think of a cheaper daily car........... parts are dirt cheap, a few bushings, 150 dollars for complete brakes front and rear, a timingbelt and waterpump, and the car will run for atleast 3 years with some oil and gas. 14" tires are practically free!

you should sell your e30 and buy a VW!

The truth is that people get so caught up with modifying their cars they take them past the point where they're suitable for daily driving. :o

I did the exact same thing. My e30 became too much and I realized in a few years when I'm making a steady income and perhaps have a garage I'll be much happier with a project than right now.

                            Fixed that for you.

Seriously, I would gladly drive a race car every day, even in the snow, if someone were to give me one. Poly bushing and stiff springs aren't that bad!
