I'm not sure because I've been lazy to upgrade.
Otherwise look for MyWi, costs a couple bucks in Cydia.
    Don't use mywi. Or pdanet.

You're thinking about tethering from your iPhone to your iPad?

Don't use pdanet. Your carrier can see you tethering with that.

Te ther me (<--- all one word) is a "native" tethering app. Carriers can't see if you're tethering.

What carrier are you using? Were you grandfathered into the unlimited internet plan?

    Bumping this up.

I got the new iPad, and am realizing how much of a useless brick it is when not near a wifi connection (didn't pony up for 4g LTE). I am thinking of doing the iPhone jailbreak + tethering app, either that or returning my iPad and getting the 4G one.

So who here successfully uses a tethering app on their JB'd iPhone? Ever been hassled by your carrier for it? What app do you use? Please post up your experiences!

Thanks for the response. Does this app let you see the disk mode via windows explorer, or must you go through iTunes?

That's one thing I really hate about my iPhone that I loved with my old iPod, being able to use it as a drive.

Ok, I just went google/youtubing. I have a itouch 3gen with ver 4.2.1 and about to get a 4s through verison. So cydia has a list of bunch of apps that are free/ apple does not approve of? Does it make the processing quicker?
cydia allows you to add tweaks and add ons that have been created by others. through cydia you can download installous.
installous is pretty much the app store for free people hack apps and you can download those hacked apps. the tweaks and add ons are some of the things that bypass apples restrictions. if you go crazy downloadin everything it may slow down your phone. google usefull cydia apps, u may get a bad one or two there are no guarantees with this stuff and " you are out of contract" when you jailbreak as in insurance and stuff like that. its a do at your own risk type thing.

There is no untethered jailbreak for the 4s right now or any of the A5 devices. (iPad 2)

You'll have to wait unless you'll settle with a regular iPhone 4.

    QFT!!!!!

But it all is still mumbo jumbo to me. Im on a 2g iphone on tmobile but I don't pay for data. Just use wifi. Installous hasn't been working for me lately though. anyone else?
