20 bucks says if you are put into that same situation, you'd react just the same.

Its not like the girl just opened fire like a mad women. She checked with the dispatcher and did what she had to do to make sure her baby is kept safe.

You would lose that 20 in a heart beat because I have been in that situation multiple times growing up In a bad neighborhood. Ive shouted out verbal warnings multiple times and once even had to give them a warning shot.

Im not saying she is wrong for wanting to protect her family, Im just saying that there was more that could have been done. She had enough time to call the police and talk to them so it wasnt a split second decision. Im surprise the dispatcher did not advise her to let the burglars know that she is home and armed.

Unless you were there you can not state that more could be done. I agree death is the last resort, and any loss of life is unfortunate.

No one was there but the mother and child, Im simply giving my opinion based on what Ive read in the article. Im sure he never thought he'd get blown away by a shotgun shell.

Anyways, lets just all agree that the burglar is a fucking moron, a loss of life is unfortunate, and were glad the mother and child is safe.:)

They are more impulsive in any situation by instinct from my experience.

Whats with all the blood lust? Seeing that most burglars are a bunch of raccoons which flee at the first sight/sound, dont you think it wouldve been alot smarter for the mother to yell out to the burglars to let them know she is inside and armed? Most likely they would have just fled the scene. Just seems to me that the situation couldve been avoided.

Im not condoning the attempted burglars actions, but at the end of the day he is still someones father/son. Everybody makes poor decisions in their lifetime. Would you want youre father/son gunned down for one stupid mistake?

Should she have let him in to rape and stab her to death? Next would have been killing or kidnapping and possibly the son who is the legacy to his dead father.

If some pile of garbage sees it fit to come in to an 18 year old girl's house with a 12" long knife he deserves exactly what he got. That's not a poor decision, it's not like he stole a video game from Wal-Mart.

I wouldn't have asked permission. I would have just rolled all ninja style and caught the guy when he was on a tiled floor, fuck getting blood out of carpet, and we just had hardwood floors installed, don't wanna fuck up that nice cedar smell.

Anywho, props to the girl for having the balls to do what was needed, instead of cowering and letting the thief potentially take advantage of her, and possible escalate the situation into a rape/kidnapping.

In my house with out my permission and threatening me or my family = DEAD period There will be very clear and loud verbal warnings but there will not be much leeway in comprehension or time to comply. My home is my Castle and I will defend it as such.

To quote this and most of your other posts as understood,

if some stalker with a knife was trying to break into my wife's house (while I am away at work), I would hope to God that she would protect herself and our three year old daughter with lethal force without hesitation. Not sure if you have kids or not, but when someone is threatening your kid's (not to mention your wife's) life, i GUARANTEE the last thing you will be thinking about is the perpetrator's possible loved ones and how they will feel in this situation.
