About ten years ago I shattered my femur where it meets with my knee. I got two plates and 12 pins and had to heal. After I started walking again, they found that I had a tendon that was catching on a bolt head causing my knee to pop. They removed 1 pate and a few screws. The popping went away but to this day my knee is perpetually swollen. When the pain comes back I use a cane or a motion limiting brace to help support my leg as a whole. Hope you find a solution .

Basically, if you're in a lot of pain, you need to get back in contact with the doc. But you already knew that. Not really sure why you're asking here. :p

And yeah, my sister has a titanium rod in her femur thanks to the not so well secured steering column in her old WRX. The hardware backed out a couple of times and they had to remove a few bits and pieces. That solved it.

Frankly, given the injuries you're describing, I'll bet it's more complicated. That said, someone needs to look inside so that you can make an educated decision. Just keep in mind that if stuff is clotting up in your leg, this isn't just painful, it's life threatening. Get your ass to a doctor sooner rather than later so that you can evaluate the situation more effectively.

Why i'm asking for other people's personal opinions? What you said, "You need to get back in contact with the doc." I'm guessing that your probably a teenager living in your parents house judging by the ignorance of your post. Well, I'm asking for opinions because going to a surgeon isn't like going to get a pack of smokes.

The surgeon I had at Hopkins is extremely busy, as you could imagine, so the next available apt is feb 6th. I have x-rays at my parents house as well as pics of the day after in the intensive care. I'm curious to look at them all myself because I haven't seen them for over 2 years. I'll post for shits and giggles though since I know human nature is to be interested in pure carnage.

I have 2 long steel screws in my left medial malleolus and 10 screws + plate in my left fibula, I had a few issues with the lateral tendons in my legs rubbing on the plate for a while but, pretty much, I just accepted that as what would happen from now on. It does still happen from time to time but, other than that and some ankle joint clicking going up-stairs, I still have all of the hardware in the original positions and no other issues so far. I'm probably going to have to get it all removed surgically eventually but my bones have come together stronger than ever

if you're in that much pain and you can't get in to see that surgeon soon, see another or go to the emergency room. It's not that complicated.

And when you've got that much damage, I stand by my comment that you're at risk for clotting. Having it evaluated sooner rather than later is a good thing.

But hey, apparently I still live at home with my parents. Definitely came as a surprise to me, but with your massive powers of perception, how can you be wrong?

If you were from california I would recommend medical marijuana. People use it to get over painful experiences, my neighbor used to smoke it daily during chemotherapy.
                        Otherwise idk

its never a good idea to ask for medical advice online. go to the ER and get followup with your surgeon. There is no way a doc online can evaluate you without physically seeing you
