Can you guys get 98 octane, like here in oz.
Im just wondering why all the performance chip recommend the use of 91.

    Yes and no.

Most states in the US top out at 93 or 94 for standard pump gas, there are some stations that have a seperate "cam2" race gas pump that sells 98 or 100 octane unleaded, and usually a 110leaded. I've never seen anything higher than 91 in California.

Rednecks here go to the airport to get 110 for their high comp dirt track/drag cars. It's mad $$$.

We use a different rating system. We use PON and Aus uses RON. 98 RON = 94 PON.

92 here in Oregon, but there is a place in town that sells non-ethanol 110 for ~$8 a gallon. Lots of places have non-ethanol 92 for $2-$3 more a gallon.

No reason to have 98 everywhere in the US, we don't drive like this:

They had like 116 when I was there last year. Which is ~120 RON.

If you're not getting detonation or the ability to advance your timing more and tune it for more power with that timing, there is no advantage to a higher octane fuel.
