Rice will absorb water sure enough - not so sure about that coolant.

If you feel brave, you should take it apart, and clean it with isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush.

Drug stores usually sell two kinds. A ~70% version, and a 90% version - you want the +90% version. (the rest is water)

But honestly, phones now a days are so hard to take apart you might not want to even try. I've fixed 3 phones this way that just drying them out didn't work. What happens is that salts from the liquid will get in between the pins, and cause shorts.

Best of luck - I know you love your phones!

Lol, my friend did this, except in a mop bucket. He had the phone for less than 2 weeks. His previous phone was "slightly run over" just as this one "slightly got wet".

I dunked mine in water ( no, not the toilet) and put it in the oven on low for a while. The water indicator did change to red but the phone still works today! You'll probably be okay.

I'm sure it probably is fine, I'm just worried about how much of it got in all of the ports and what not.

Better safe than sorry. I'd let it sit for as long as possible.

Lol, that reminds me of that story of the guy with the E36 who baked his DME at 350 degrees in the oven.

I bet if you leave it in the rice long enough you will be fine. I dropped my old phone in a cup of PJ at a part once. Threw it in some rice for 24 hours and it works great, aside from all the buttons sticking.

Same here, brand new Galaxy Nexus in the damn toilet...thankfully it was post flush. Pulled it out so fast (luckily also had a rubber case on it) few hours later with a hair drier and it was just fine, make sure you dry off the speaker fully...they tend to sound like crap permenatly if turned on while still wet.

Since your water indicator didnt get wet, if its broken they might replace it for free.

That's kinda what I'm hoping for, if it doesn't work after I pull it from the rice grave, I'll just exchange it under warranty.

I actually called just to make sure that I did in fact still have the handset protection, and she was the one that told me that if the sticker isn't indicating water damage, they will still just exchange it under warranty regardless. The girl was laughing like crazy at me, she'd never heard of someone dropping their phone in coolant before.
