Damn this sucks. I had my Moto Droid 1 have coke spill on it and the power/screen lock button was stuck and wouldn't work...thankfully Verizon replaced it under warranty since I "didn't know why it happened." Coolant isn't "sticky" enough to ruin any buttons like that so let's hope you're fine. Also, this post too longer to type than normal because I am drunk.

I lost my beat up, run over, water damaged, phone in Paris in 2010. I went to the Verizon store here and told the story of a drunken night out with the locals.

          Free replacement.

Well, I just got home from work. Dumped out the bowl of rice, spent about 15 minutes or so with compressed air-in-a-can and a pick getting all the little bits of rice and dust out of it, slapped in the battery and sim, and...

              IT'S ALIVE!

100% full functionality, touch screen is fine, audio jack, USB, speakers, everything works perfectly. Coolant is a good deal thicker than water, so with as fast as I pulled it out of the stuff and stripped it apart, it didn't have time to get in anywhere and cause any real damage. The sticker still didn't change color, so if anything does go wrong later, I can still exchange it under warranty. So happy I don't have to fork out a bunch of cash for a new one right now.

Doesn't a microwave just excite water molecules? Sounds like a stupid idea to me...

More than that. they will create an electric current within metal traces and hardware.

They don't just excite water molecules.

it was a joke guys, anything metal in a microwave is bad. Just put a CD in there and watch the fire wrorks, but it will make it stink really bad, LOL

They may just warrenty it out. I did the same thing with one of my phones only it was oil and not coolant. Long story short oil does not damage electronics and therfore its not water damage.
