/agree they do have down pat.
Depending on the Md that dose your fathers' case. Most don't crack open the chest. Post op rehab is great. If your father is motivated his recovery time will be short. He will do great.

Make sure you thank the doctor when he saves your dads life, before thanking god.

Horrible chain of events for you and your family man. Will definitely be in my prayers. I'm not sure if he meant to be disrespectful (I'm leaning towards him not) but he's right, I'd thank the doctor for saving your fathers life. Prayer only goes so far, this instance is a game of science, not devine intervention, let's hope this doctor is top notch.

I don't speak to the man upstairs often, but I will make sure to run this by him tonight.

My grandfather had a valve replacement done 2 years ago, piece of cake from what I understand.

Good luck, I know how scary this can be and I wish you all the best.

My mom had a valve replacement done about 4 years ago, she was up and standing on her own the next day, and home within 5 days of the surgery. Pretty amazing what modern medicine can do, best of luck to your dad. Will definitely say a little prayer for him. When is he going in for surgery?
