Does R3V know anything about watches?

This watch showed up in the mail today. It's much more yellow than it appears and is also in better shape. However, the crystal is loose and appears to have bent the minute hand at the tip. I think I'm going to remove the movement, service it myself and send the case away to be replated - possibly in something other than yellow gold. The band is awesome and seems to be original to the watch. The movement runs but stalls out - it probably just needs a general service. It could also be the result of the bent hand. -
Such an awesome watch.
I bought a similar watch to this a few months back, I love it.Leave a comment:

Yea G-shock! I've found my thirst for timepiece's can be quenched with a new G-shock every few months. Have fairly small wrists though, so I can't pull off some of the larger ones...shame. Same thing that holds me back from a lot of big face watches.
Today's

Rest of the active duty watches

Here is my collection, starting from newest (cheapest) to oldest.
Stauer 21 jewel (I think, can't remember)

Early '60s Omega Sea Master

And the old school... My 1904 Elgin pocket watch

The mainspring is broken on the Elgin. It would work fine if that were fixed.

I guess you could extend the shafts with some sort of tubing of equal diameter. Or just machine the back of the wheel and move the movement up closer.I'm hopping some of you guys more versed in watches can help me out. I want to turn a wheel into a wall clock in my garage. I need to find a movement with a long shaft, probably 2-3 inches to clear the hub and the concave of the spokes. Everything I've found online only goes up to about 1.5 inches, but I'll admit that it was a very quick search without much luck.
Any help?Leave a comment:
