Not powerful enough to do anything other than web/email? That's a load of crap. The A5 (and any similar dual Cortex-A9) delivers roughly the processing power of a desktop from ten years ago. I'm not claiming that would be my choice for heavy lifting, but it's not like we couldn't do a lot at that time. There are plenty of limitations inherent in the tablet layout, but the horsepower argument is BS.
For me, the iPad is useful because:
1) Instant on, all the time.
2) Long ass battery life.
3) Instant on network connectivity anywhere.
4) It's really nice to use.
5) It feels pretty quick.
I use it constantly at work and at home. The one thing that I'm really looking forward to in the next version is the (likely) QXGA screen.
For me, the iPad is useful because:
