Has anyone seen the new Ghibli film?

Are there any thought provoking or more mature Anime's out there other than Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Evangelion? Used to be a huge fan of anime, but I can no longer stand the teenage bubblegum variety.

Try Monster, or Death Note,or Berserk.
Death note gets a horrible rep because of the hot topic-ification of it ,and all the ugly fat weaboo chicks who swear by it.

Actually just watch Berserk.

Try Ergo Proxy and Serial Experiments: Lain. EP is set in a post apocalyptic future and is sort of a mystery/action style drama. It can be fast paced in some places, but it's still very well thought out and engaging.

Lain, on the other hand, is depressing as fuck. Very, very different show. It deals with the subject of isolation and mental illness unlike anything else I've ever seen, but putting you in the shoes of a character suffering from those conditions. I know some people find it hard to watch, but if you can immerse yourself in it, it can be a chilling experience.

Others i watched were Ghost in the shell, Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist, Inuyasha, Sailor Moon, and just about every other one that appeared on the CN.

Back in the day it was DBZ and Pokemon.
Tried some that were reviewed as "must watch"...

• Gurren Lagann - can't understand why people like this, I sat through 8 or 9 episodes to give it a chance.
• Cowboy Bebop - boring. Stylish and unique, yes. Overrated? YES.
• Fullmetal Alchemist - breathtaking

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Code Geass... I loved it.
